This blog is dedicated to the proposition that the Bible is the only true, written expression of truth from God. If you agree with this proposition tell us why. If you do not agree, please especially tell us why. Most comments (except for those clearly obscene or especially time-wasting and axe grinding) are welcomed. Skeptics and naysayers are especially welcome, including atheists, agnostics, Muslims, Mormons, Pagans, Satanists, general curmudgeons, etc. I will relish corresponding with you, and I sincerely hope you will also enjoy the mental spar and parry as much as I.
For those who likely ask, "What's the point, anyway?", let me just submit this thought. Human wisdom and enlightenment has thus far not proven capable of preserving our species and/or our ability to peacefully and decently coexist. In my view, our natural understanding and hallowed education has clearly not given us the real answers we inherently require. So perhaps, you may allow or consider the possibility that a higher power, with infinitely greater wisdom, intelligence, and knowledge, might know better than we. Or perhaps not. It's your call. But the stakes are high, so I hope you have a really good answer.

"A fair result can be obtained only by stating and balancing the facts and arguments on both sides of each question." -- Author?
I think the above statement could be regarded as a logical axiom, applicable to most questions and controversies. It is almost always true that the full disclosure and consideration of the facts and arguments is necessary to come to a reasonable and right conclusion. I believe the above guideline especially applies to the controversy surrounding the origin of life on Earth -- that is, the scientific debate of neo-Darwinistic evolution vs. designed direction (or "creation").
It is interesting to observe that in recent years much of the controversy over evolution has been brought to the forefront by reputable scientists and their publications. These scientists have presented additional methods of interpreting the objective evidence and have thus proposed new theories and arguments concerning the origins of life on the basis of the scientific evidence. The most notable (and I believe the most credible) body of evidence and arguments which has been the source of controversy recently has been called the "Intelligent Design" movement, or "ID". The ID movement was started by established scientists and has consistently been supported and further developed by reputable members of the scientific community, not by religious leaders. This research and debate effort revolves around the development of a testable, alternative scientific theory on life origins. Various derivatives and corollaries of the ID theory have also been proposed and are under development, many of which are backed by members of the established scientific community itself, not necessarily by fundamentalist organizations. The ID movement has been active and involved in research and scientific publication for about a decade now. Scientist participants in the ID movement continue to make progress in the elaboration and presentation of the Intelligent Design theory as a scientific alternative to neo-Darwinistic evolution.
It is also very interesting to note that the teaching in public schools centers around somewhat narrow or outdated material, and in some cases misleading material, regarding evolution. It is further interesting to observe that public school teachers are often either discouraged from presenting all the evidence regarding life origins (which sometimes is in addition to the established curriculum) or are prevented from questioning the status quo teaching on evolution. Neither the contradictory evidence nor the scrutiny of the previously-accepted thought is allowed in the educational community, in many cases. This restricts both the students' thinking and their knowledge of the facts within the tight boundaries the establishment wants to them to believe and understand. Does this sound like a fair and responsible application of the Scientific Method? Does this seem like we are teaching our budding students to be good scientists and thinkers? I personally think not.
So who was the author of the quote given at the beginning of this post? The surprising answer: Charles Darwin.
